Hi, I'm Summer Anan.
I'm a current freshman at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST) — I just went through the admissions process myself, so I know what it actually takes, not just what it looks like from the outside.
I tutor students in the Northern Virginia / TJHSST area on weekends, covering everyday math coursework as well as TJ admissions prep for students working toward the same goal.

Before booking a full session, we do a free 15-minute Zoom call. Bring your most frustrating math problem or a question about the TJ application process, and we'll work through it together — no pressure, no obligation to continue.
What I teach
Math Support
For K–9 studentsAny math level below Geometry Honors — Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Geometry. Homework help, concept review, and building confidence for tests.
1-on-1 by default; a friend or sibling can join with all parents' okay.
TJ Admissions Prep
For K–8 studentsCovers the PSE/SPS writing portion, the admissions structure and timeline, and general strategy from someone who went through it recently.

I'm a full-time TJHSST student, so tutoring is limited to these hours to protect my coursework. Taking a small number of students per semester. Rate may increase in the future.
Policies
Payment
Online only — Zelle or Venmo. No cash.
Registration
You register for each session individually, unless you let me know you'd like a standing weekly slot.
Rescheduling
Rescheduling is fine with advance notice. I may also need to cancel a session on my end for any reason, with as much notice as possible.
Learning with a friend or sibling
More than one student can join a session (same laptop or separate ones), as long as all parents are on board. Each student pays their own $40/hour.
